Your data privacy is important to us. Learn how we collect, use, and protect your information.

We collect information about you in several ways to provide and improve our platform:
When you create a Subcontractors.ai account, we collect your company name, contact email, phone number, physical business address, trade or specialty, years in business, licensing information, insurance details, and any payment information you provide. We use this to verify your profile, facilitate connections, and enable secure transactions.
We collect information about how you interact with our platform, including which projects you view, which subcontractors you contact, your search history, pages visited, time spent on features, and messages sent through our messaging system. This helps us understand user behavior, improve our platform, and prevent fraud.
We collect technical information including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and general location (city/region level, not precise). This helps us optimize for different devices, diagnose technical issues, and ensure security.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember preferences, maintain sessions, analyze usage patterns, and measure campaign performance. Some cookies are essential for platform functionality, while others are analytical or marketing-related.
You may upload photos, documents, testimonials, or other content to your profile or projects. We store this content and any metadata associated with it (file names, upload dates, file sizes) to deliver our services.
Payment processing is handled by secure third-party payment processors. We do not directly store credit card numbers, but we retain transaction records, invoice history, and billing addresses for accounting and fraud prevention purposes.
When you contact us via email, chat, or our contact form, we collect the content of those messages, your email address, and any attachments. We use this information to respond to your inquiries and improve customer support.
We use the information we collect for these specific purposes:
To create and maintain your account, authenticate users, process payments, send confirmations, and deliver core platform services like project matching, messaging, and ratings.
To match general contractors and project managers with qualified subcontractors in their area and trade, and to help subcontractors find projects that fit their specialties and capacity.
To send you service notifications (password resets, account alerts), respond to support requests, notify you of new project opportunities, and send updates about platform improvements or service changes. You can manage email preferences in your account settings.
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorized access, payment fraud, fake reviews, and violations of our Terms of Service.
To analyze user behavior patterns, identify popular features, understand demand trends, and make data-driven improvements to our platform. All analytics are aggregated and anonymized.
For accounting, auditing, billing, tax compliance, legal requests from law enforcement or courts, and to enforce our Terms of Service.
To send newsletters, feature updates, industry tips, and promotional information about our paid plans. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time via a link in every email or through your account settings.
We take data sharing seriously and limit it to what's necessary to operate our platform:
Your company name, trade/specialty, location (city/state), years in business, ratings, reviews, and any public portfolio items are visible to other users on the platform to facilitate connections. You control what information is public versus private.
When you apply for or are matched with a project, the project manager and other relevant parties may see your company name, contact information, trade, and relevant qualifications. This is necessary to facilitate the business relationship.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We will never sell your email address, payment information, or account data to marketing companies, data brokers, or any other commercial entity.
We share limited information with trusted third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including: payment processors (to process payments), email service providers (to send communications), analytics platforms (to measure usage), cloud hosting providers (to store data), and customer support tools (to manage inquiries). These providers are contractually obligated to maintain data confidentiality and use the information only for services they provide to us.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request. We will attempt to notify you of such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so.
If Subcontractors.ai is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any changes to how your data is handled.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
While we take security seriously, no system is perfectly secure. If we detect a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
You have the right to access, control, and delete your information:
You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you in a machine-readable format. Email us at hello@subcontractors.ai and we will provide this within 30 days.
If any of your account information is inaccurate or incomplete, you can update it directly in your account settings or request our assistance.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data. We will remove your profile, contact information, and personal details within 30 days. Note that public reviews and ratings you've written may remain (anonymized), and we may retain data as required by law for tax, legal, or compliance purposes. Transaction history is retained for accounting purposes.
You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or adjusting your notification preferences in account settings. You can also disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings, though this may limit some platform functionality.
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. We recognize such signals, though we note that universal standards for DNT response have not been established.
We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:
These are necessary for the platform to function: session management, authentication, security, and preventing fraud. You cannot disable these without breaking the platform.
We use Google Analytics and similar tools to understand how users interact with our platform, which pages are popular, where users come from, and how long they stay. This helps us improve features and user experience. These cookies are anonymous and don't identify you personally.
We use cookies to track campaign performance, show relevant ads on other websites, and measure conversion rates. You can disable these in your browser settings or through ad preference managers, though you may still see non-targeted ads.
Third-party service providers (analytics, advertising partners) may also set cookies on our platform. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies for how they use collected data.
Subcontractors.ai is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware that we've collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we've collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at hello@subcontractors.ai.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy here with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
